Lady Daphne.
Anyone interested in the history of surviving wooden Thames Barges would be well advised to carry out an Internet search on Lady Daphne because to me she seems to have had an interesting and in one instance an extremely charmed life. She was built in Rochester Kent and launched in 1923. She has a Gross Tonnage of 117 Tons with an overall length and breadth of of 91 Feet (28 Metres) and 21 Feet (6.5 Metres) respectively.
This image of Lady Daphne was captured from the Moat Wall of Calshot Castle Southampton in August 2007 and shows her motoring in Southampton Water heading in the direction of the Solent.
My original RAW image of Lady Daphne was captured using a Canon EOS 350D and Canon EF 100-400mm Mk 1 L series lens combination that produced a somewhat soft image which has been improved considerably by the use of several Topaz Labs applications. Camera settings were aperture f5, shutter speed 1/2000th of a second, ISO 200.
