River Hamble Wreck
A few days after this shot was taken on the River Hamble in Hampshire, I noticed the white lettering on her bow (BM 137) which through an Internet search enabled me to identify her as the wreck of the Brixham trawler William Allen. Having been built by the Admiralty in 1944 it seems a pity that at the grand age of 73 she has ended up decomposing slowly on a mud bank in Hampshire. The angle of my image does not do justice to her length which in her prime must have been in the region of 80 - 100 feet (approximately 25 - 30 metres)
