Auto Bank.
One of the unexpected attractions of ship's photography for me is to be able to observe over a relatively small timescale of less than 20 years, how the physical appearance of all types of vessels have changed. These changes are no doubt driven by economics but also factors such as materials science and manufacturing production methods. This view is amply demonstrated by comparing this image of the 1998 built UECC Vehicles carrier Auto Bank with the image of the 2016 UECC Vehicle carrier Auto Echo that also appears in this Sub Gallery. This image of the 19107 Gross Ton Auto Bank was captured in July 2016 as as he was motoring down Southampton Water Southampton having departed the Port a little while earlier.
