Coastal Observer and ASV.
This Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) is the first of its type that I have ever seen and photographed. When I saw her in June 2021, she was being controlled at a distance by the Port Tender Coastal Observer as they were both motoring up Southampton Water Southampton heading in the direction of the River Hamble. I have no knowledge as the the type of work both vessels were undertaking. I was unable to photograph both vessels together as I was using a zoom lens and they were widely separated in terms of distance. The images were captured from the Moat Wall of Calshot Castle. This image is poor because it has been heavily processed and cropped in order to increase the ASV's size on screen.
