Gan Island must be one of the most beautiful places that I ever visited during my time served in the British Merchant Navy in the 1960's. This poor image taken in 1964 does not do justice to the Island's natural beauty. The image shows the Thos and Jno Brocklebank cargo liner, the SS Mahseer anchored in the lagoon discharging cargo and supplies for the RAF base then operational on the island.
