I did not know anything about the history of Oniros when I captured this image of her from Calshot Spit, Southampton in August 2005, One of the first Watson Class lifeboats, she was originally deployed as the Salcombe Lifeboat between the years 1938 and 1963. In 1940 she was one of the little ships that took part in the Dunkirk evacuation. I assume at the time this image was captured she was owned and operated by the Royal Naval Sailing Association (see lettering on her stern), but cannot confirm that guess on my part.
