The year 2020 has afforded no opportunities for ship's photography with the poor weather at the beginning of the year and then the lock down on movements as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. How wonderful therefore to see nature following its ageless cycle of renewal and new birth as evidenced by a pair of Blue tits who appear to be bringing up a brood of chicks in my back garden. The nest box was purchased many years ago from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). Although various locations were tried it was never occupied. About five years ago it was fastened to the side of a summer house just to keep it out of the way and to prevent it from being damaged. Every year since it has been used successfully by Blue Tits!
