This image was captured in May 2010 and shows the Veolia operated Port Tender Seagreen providing environmental (rubbish collection) services to the Saga Cruise Ship Saga Ruby in Southampton's Western Docks. Without such services ships would be sunk under the weight of their own rubbish or seas would be even more polluted than they are now. I cannot remember ships such as Seagreen operating back in the 1960's when I was at sea. When underway back then all rubbish (regrettably) went over the side.
