This image of kite Surfers at Calshot Spit in the Solent Southampton was captured on the 20th September 2019 when there were gale force winds blowing across the Solent. I did not realise at the time that that there was a lone figure crouching down on the gravel bank at the extreme left hand side of my image. After cropping to enhance the size of the Kites, it became clear to me that the figure was of a lone photographer attempting to capture some action shots of the Kite Surfers. I have never before seen any one standing in that location at low water dressed in everyday clothing. Whether you judge the photographer's action to be brave or foolhardy depends I suppose on the quality of their captured images!
