Different Internet sources describe the Special Purpose Vessel Brave Tern as an Offshore Support Vessel, as a Wind Farm Installation Vessel and as a Heavy Lift Jack-up Vessel. Whatever the description, Brave Tern is an amazing sight and I was very fortunate to see and photograph her from the deck of a Red Funnel car ferry on the 6th February 2020. This image shows her shortly after she departed Berth 101 in Southampton's Western Docks as she joined the navigation channel in the River Test heading for Southampton Water and the Solent beyond. She was built in Dubai in 2012 for Fred. Olsen Windcarriers, is Registered in Malta, is 78 Metres long and has a Gross Tonnage of 15328 Tons.
