Emerging from the mist at Calshot.
Having turned into Southampton Water from the Solent at Calshot, Queen Elizabeth is seen emerging from the early morning mist as she heads towards the Esso berths at the Fawley Refinery. The small ship to the right of the image is the Steam Ship (SS) Shieldhall part of the flotilla of small ships sailing that morning to welcome the Queen Elizabeth to Southampton for the first time.
