Thermopylae Clipper.
My eye is always drawn towards yachts with coloured sails and/or distinctive hull decals. It is obvious therefore from this image of the 60 foot Thermopylae Clipper why I sought to capture this and other images of her sailing in the Solent off the Isle of Wight back in the early part of September 2008. She is owned and operated by the Discovery Sailing Project which is part of the Scouts Association whose aim is to provide adventure training to Scouts and youth organisations. She was built in 1996 and had a distinguished career before joining the Discover Sailing Project having participated in four Round the World yacht races under two different names. Much more information about her can be found of the Discovery Sailing Project Web site.
