The sailing ship Shtandart, the stern of which is featured in this image is a replica of the 18th Century Russian Frigate of the same name that was to become the first three masted Frigate in the Imperial Russian Navy to be deployed in the Baltic Sea. The replica Shtandart was built in St Petersburg and came into service in 2000. Her purpose is to provide sail training to young people.
