Ferry Passing Point at East Cowes.
In order to integrate the new Red Funnel ferry Red Kestrel into the timetable for the larger car and passenger ferries it seems that it was necessary for Red Funnel Ferries to establish a passing point near to the East Cowes ferry terminal because the River Medina is not wide enouth to allow ferries to pass in mid-stream. This image was captured from the deck of the Red Eagle ferry and shows how the Red Kestrel has moved aside to allow the Red Eagle to berth..
