Harald Horn.
This (extremely poor) image of the cargo ship Harald Horn was captured in late 1963 from the deck of Thos and Jno Brocklebank's cargo liner SS Mahseer. At the time both ships were located in the Suez Canal's Bitter Lakes waiting for the Southbound convey we were in to completely form up. I have looked for information on Harald Horn over the years but what I know is extremely limited. What I believe is that she was German owned and operated by the Horn Shipping Company and was Registered in Germany with the call-sign DARK. At the time the photograph was taken it was my first transit of the Suez Canal so was interested in all of the ships that surrounded Mahseer at the time. I only wish I had taken more care in setting up my manual Voigtlander camera and had used better quality slide film.
