Fastnet Race 2019

On the 3 August 2019 I was on board the Steam Ship (SS) Shieldhall in the Western Solent close to the North Coast of the Isle of Wight to observe some of the competition shortly after the commencement of the 2019 Fastnet Yacht race. All of my images of this event were captured from the outside decks of  Shieldhall. I know nothing about the rules for the competitors in the Fastnet Race. What I understand is that the competitors sail under handicap rules so that the fastest yacht and the first across the finishing line is not necessarily the overall winner. According to news reports there were 388 participating yachts in a number of different classes entered into the race. Currently there is a great deal of information on the Internet about the participating yachts and their crews. As the Sub Gallery develops I will attempt to add what little information I have about some of the yachts and their names.
