Rogaland.
My only thought when I captured this image of the Motor Vessel (M/V) Rogaland in July 2011 when she was berthed in the Norwegian Port of Stavangar was that her build and style was very similar to the Cargo Ships that I sailed on in the 1960's. However when doing some basic research on the Internet about her history (January 2022) prior to uploading this image, I learnt that she was in fact built in 1929 by the Norwegian shipbuilding company Stavanger Stoberi & DOC. I presume that when she was built she was a steam ship because it appears that she was re-engined with diesel engine(s) in the 1950's. Her purpose was to provide fast passenger services within Norwegian waters and to transport both refrigerated and fresh fish for export. She appears to be part of the exhibit at Stavanger's Maritime museum whilst being refurbished by volunteers which will include re-fitting her with a steam engine.
