HMS Explorer P164 & HMS Example P165.
This image of two Archer Class patrol vessels, HMS Explorer P164 and HMS Example P165 was captured in April 2017 when both craft were moored at a Pontoon in the River Medina at West Cowes Isle of Wight. Both vessels are used for sea training being attached to different Northern UK Universities. A great deal of information about their build, history and purposes can be found on the Internet. The image was captured from the deck of the Red Funnel car and passenger ferry Red Eagle that had just left the ferry terminal at East Cowes for the short crossing to Southampton.
