Conger Eel?
The waters close to the the RNLI Lifeboat Station and the Moat Wall of the Castle at Calshot are favourite fishing spots that attract many sea anglers to test their skills. Over the years that I have been visiting Calshot I have seen a variety of different fish caught but this image records the first occasion that I have ever seen what I believe is a Conger Eel being caught and landed. By the way the angler handled the eel with a great deal of respect, suggests to me that it is a fish that will fight back with teeth that are able to inflict a painful bite.
