Wight Sky
When I visited the Ferry Terminal at Lymington in Hampshire on 1st September 2009 I had no plans to photograph the Ferries and was only equipped with my Nikon, P5000 compact camera. Imagine my surprise and delight therefore as I watched the vehicles disembark Wight Sky to see the steam lorry "Major Stanley" come ashore. An Internet search reveals that it was built by Foden in 1931 and is described as a "C type, 3 way tipper Lorry, number 13746. I subsequently learnt that when I captured this image, it was on its way to participate in the 2009 Great Dorset Steam Rally that commenced on the 3rd September.
