Shemara.
The Super Yacht Shemara was built in 1938 by the Southampton based shipbuilder Vosper Thorneycroft for the British Industrialist Sir Bernard Docker and his wife Lady Nora. Sir Bernard Docker was the Managing Director of the Birmingham Small Arms Company over the years of 1940 to 1956. During the period 1939 to 1946 she was taken over by the British Admiralty, renamed HMS Shemara and used for anti submarine training. After an interesting career and a number of changes in ownership she underwent a complete refit from around 2010 until 2014. The Internet sources I have seen report that the work took approximately 1 million man hours to complete but do not reveal what the total cost of the refurbishment was. This image was captured from the deck of a Red Funnel car and passenger ferry in July 2014 when Shemara must have been close to the end of her refit. It shows Shemara berthed in Southampton's Ocean Dock. The Internet images of her interior taken after the refit show her fabulous interior spaces including her cabins and also reveal that she is/was available for Charter by anyone with incredibly deep pockets!
