Giorita.
At 63 years of age (as of November 2021) the General cargo ship/Tankship Giorita must be one of the oldest vessels that I have photographed which is still in service. Although she is officially described as a cargo ship, I have placed her in the Special Purpose Vessel Sub Gallery because I suspect from the appearance of her main deck that her purpose in life is to transport wine in bulk. She was built in 1958, has a Gross Tonnage of 939 Tons and is Registered in Italy. This image of her was captured in August 2008 when she was berthed in the Italian Port of Naples.
