Enisey.
What made me curious when I first saw Enisey at the Esso Number one berth at the Fawley refinery was that her hull has all the characteristics of an ice breaker but also she had a stern facing bridge as well as a conventional one looking forward. Built in 2011, registered in Russia with the Home Port of Murmansk, she is an oil products tanker but one with a hull design that allows her to run ahead in open water and thin ice as a conventional ship would, but also she can turn round and proceed with the stern acting as the bow in conditions of thick ice. This means she can operate in very severe ice conditions in winter at her Home Port without the assistance of an ice breaker. It is the first time that I have ever seen such a vessel!
