Stad Amsterdam.
The design of the sailing ship Stad Amsterdam is based on that of the original three masted clipper ships but she was not intended to be an exact replica. She was built in the Netherlands in the year 2000, six years before this image of her was captured. The image shows her sailing down the River Tagus Portugal, heading in the direction of the sea, presumably having departed the Port of Lisbon a little while earlier. She was built for training and charter purposes and is capable of accommodating 30 crew and between 28 and 115 passengers.
