Coastguard Helicopter G-MCGO.
I make no apologies for including another image of the Coastguard Helicopter G-MCGO in this sub gallery given that there are similar images on display. The reason for its inclusion is that in my experience photographing such aircraft is extremely difficult given their speed and manoeuvrability and the difficulty in obtaining pin sharp focus whilst conveying the impression of speed, particularly that of the rotor blades. I have always had difficulty in avoiding motion blur and camera shake. One solution for me has been to adopt an extremely fast shutter speed as in this case which was 1/2000th of a second. A consequence of that setting is the freezing of the rotor blades as can be same here. I do not yet have a solution. I can only explain that this type of photography, for me is work in progress. The image was captured in July 2022 from the deck of the SS Shieldhall that at the time was underway in the Solent Southampton heading towards the NAB Tower.
