Francine.
Francine was built on the Isle of Wight in 1940 for the Royal Navy and is variously described as a diesel Motor Launch, Pinnace or a Harbour Defence vessel. This is the only image that I have of her which I captured in 2017. That year she was already 77 years old so can be forgiven for looking a little tired. Apparently she had been returned to Portsmouth in that year for restoration and preservation work to be carried out but I have no information about how that work has progressed since. She is registered as vessel number 3009 on the National Historic Ships UK Web site so anyone interested in a more complete history is well advised to give that site a visit. The image shows Francine underway in Portsmouth Harbour Hampshire and was captured using a Panasonic DMC-TZ 100 Bridge camera from the deck of the Portsmouth ferry Spirit of Portsmouth.
