Lord Nelson.
On the second of October 2019 a BBC news item reported that the Sail Training Ship Lord Nelson (known affectionately as Nelly) had been de-commissioned because of funding difficulties. Her future it was reported has yet to be decided. Over the years I have had the good fortune to photograph her many times as she sailed in Southampton waters and the Solent. This image of her was captured in September 2008 as she sailed across the Solent in the direction of Portsmouth. I sincerely hope that her future is bright.
