Kitty.
I have been able to photograph the Thames sailing barge Kitty a few times over the years but not always from a vantage point that does justice to her lines. This image captured in June 2006 from Gunwharf Quay Portsmouth looking out across to Fareham Creek is a case in point. Only by cropping the image have I been able to make her the point of interest. Kitty was built in 1895 and is one of the oldest sailing barges afloat. She is 27 Metres long, 6.5 Metres wide and has a Gross tonnage of 79 Tons. She is still in service providing Private and Corporate charters. There is much information on the Internet about her sailing programme, history and build as well as a statement about her status as an historic ship.
