HMS Ledbury M30.
This image was captured from the Moat Wall of Calshot Castle Southampton in June 2005 using my first digital camera which was a Sony Cybershot compact camera. I always considered that camera's performance to be excellent particularly when the subject was well lit and close by. Its limitations however were quickly revealed when the subject was a long way away and the scene was poorly lit as demonstrated by this image of HMS Ledbury M30. HMS Ledbury was the second of the Hunt Class Mine Counter Measures Vessels to be built for the Royal Navy and came into service in 1981. I believe she is still in service but is now deployed in the Persian Gulf. I am astounded by how modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) based photographic processing software can improve a poor original image.
