Venture Quay.
I was delighted to have had the opportunity to capture this image on the 16th of March 2012 of a collection of vessels that were berthed at the pontoon located at Venture Quays, East Cowes Isle of Wight. At the time I captured the image, I was a passenger on the Red Funnel ferry Red Eagle that was berthed at the ferry terminal at East Cowes. In the foreground is the Severn Class Lifeboat Annette Hutton (17-44), the Trent Class Lifeboat Frederick Storey Cockburn (14-07) and the survey vessel Mabel Alice that I suspect was a lifeboat in a previous life. I do not know the identity of the vessel located in the bottom right of the picture. For good measure at the top of the photograph, there is a Royal Navy vessel that I have been able to identify as HMS Somerset (F82). She was in the main navigation channel of the Solent, heading in the direction of Portsmouth.
